Cue “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” Boonie edition
Every Boonie (yahhhh), rock your body (yahhhhh)…. did you miss us, because we missed you! We hope that everyone’s Thanksgiving was filled with endless love and food! Aria and I have so much to be thankful for but at the top of our list is all of our amazing Boonie supporters. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, Boonie Babies would not be possible without people like you. Thank you for helping us save the Boonies!
November Recap
From making CNMI and Keilbach history by placing in the top 25 at Miss Earth to gaining 14,300 new followers on Instagram almost doubling our following, November has been an amazing week for Boonie Babies. And the best part? Henry is currently flying home for the holidays and will shortly be followed by Kai and Raven! With the cost and logistics of shipping dogs off island, this type of happy ending is so rare, making it a cause for celebration every time. Henry and Kai already have moms eagerly awaiting their arrivals while Raven will be flying to a foster home in Canada. She has already received multiple adoption inquires so we don’t think it’ll be long until she is in her forever home as well.

Myth: Pet insurance doesn’t cover everything
Many pet owners worry that insurance won’t cover everything, especially routine care or pre-existing conditions. While that’s true in many cases, most insurers now offer wellness add-ons for preventive care like vaccines, dental cleanings, and check-ups, giving you more complete coverage. View Money’s pet insurance list to find plans for as low as $10 a month.
Boonie of the Week
This past week we also had two on island adoptions, an even more rare occurrence! Meet the lucky Boonies of the Week’, Lenny and Shasta!
Meet Lenny
We received a message from a great group of people looking to adopt a dog as a gift for their co-worker’s birthday. Of course, this worried us a little bit about how well it go. Then we saw the pictures…

Lenny with his new mom at her Birthday party
Seeing how beautiful Lenny looked and the joy he instantly brought to his mom literally brought tears to our eyes (trust us, the video is cuter than soldier homecoming clips). Lenny had been in Boonie Babies care for months with zero adoption interest, making his options slimmer and worse with each passing day. We could not be happier for Lenny and wish him and his new family all the best.

Baby Lenny
Lenny was originally living in a parking lot and being cared for by a high school student. She reached out to Boonie Babies and of course, we couldn’t say no to this sweet face.
Meet Shasta
Shasta was found on a dirt road doing what she had to do to survive which may or may not have included eating the body of a deceased dog. Due to her starvation, she was extremely easy to catch and allowed us to scoop her right up. Clearly missing puppies of her own (we looked but never found any), Shasta became the best surrogate mother to puppies in our care. She let them nurse from her, groomed them, provided lots of cuddle time, and even taught them crucial manners by correcting bad behavior. In addition to being an excellent mom, she also loved people and instantly adapted to the pet life style, curling up in bed the first night after being rescued.
Something in this picture may catch your eye other than the cute bandana. If you said nipples, you aren’t alone! Mama dogs are even more difficult for us to adopt out due to this feature. We have even had people ask us if we can cut them off…
Shasta’s adopters saw a picture of her online and knew she was the one for them. The whole family came to pick her up and welcome her home.
